CS:GO Source 2, un engine nou pentru unul din cele mai mari jocuri ale lumii, zvonit de multe ori, e real, e aproape si s-ar putea sa isi faca prezenta in cel mult 40 de zile.

Acesta este posibil sa introduca un sistem nou de comunicare client-server unde nu este necesara o valoare fixa pentru comunicarea datelor, asa-numit tickrate. Acest sistem nou fiind supranumit "Tickless" sau 0 Tick.

Multe zvonuri mai spun si ca se va modifica (in mod pozitiv) sistemul de matchmaking, anti-cheat, dar si ca va pastra elementele de gameplay curente, iar skin-urile actuale vor fi portate.
