Google nu va mai actualiza browserul  Chrome  pe această versiune de Windows, împreună cu 8.1. Cu toate astea, nu dispera! Vei putea să folosești în continuare browserul, doar că acesta nu va mai primi ultimele funcții și patch-uri de securitate disponibile.

Ultima versiune pe care Google a planificat-o pentru sistemele mai vechi de operare este denumită „Chrome 110” și este așteptată pe data de 7 februarie 2023,  conform declarației oficiale . De asemenea, cei de la Google recomandă utilizatorilor care vor să se bucure în continuare de ce are mai nou de oferit browserul să facă update la  Windows 10  sau  Windows 11 .
